HOW YOUR BUSINESS CAN CONTRIBUTE TO CCB/EP

Membership is open to any business, community service organization or governmental agency that serves Carbon County. You can join as a Partner to be involved in the activities offered to students or really become active in the development of programs by seeking appointment to the Board of Directors. There are many programs available to bring businesses and our schools together:

• Job Shadowing/Internships/Work Experience – offer work experience to school students in a variety of ways.


• Educator in the Workplace – offer short term or long term placements for teachers in your business to inform them of up to date aspects of business practice and available career opportunities for their students.


• Speakers/Business Support in School – subject/expertise specific e.g. business planning, use of IT in an organization or employee expectations, work ethics/soft skills, etc. can be presented. This can be support for the students through presentations in lessons and/or it can be support for the school itself.


• Student Visits to Organizations – students benefit from “real life" experiences. They draw on their experiences when writing assignments for their course work which is often vocationally based. Organizations which are unique within Carbon County may suffer from repeated approaches from individual schools requesting student visits. CCB/EP can manage and co-ordinate is process so that scheduled tours dates are agreed and advertised to schools.


• Role Models – Successful role models are urged to work with the county schools to inspire pupils to achieve their goals. We are looking for role models to become Inspirers for Carbon County’s youth. Everyday heroes, people like you, can make a difference to a young person’s confidence and enthusiasm to succeed. Can you spare a small amount of time from your busy schedule to help shape the future of our young people? We have students waiting to be inspired by your story.


• Sponsorship Opportunities – you can use these opportunities as part of your Corporate Social Responsibility program. It also helps to raise your profile in the school and community by visually demonstrating that you are involved.


• Sustainability – Schools are addressing a range of sustainability issues and would welcome the opportunity to work in partnership with other organizations.


• Training Courses – businesses offering spare places in house training courses for educators e.g. time management, recruitment.
